A schoolgirl who stunned her family and friends when she fell pregnant to her 13-year-old boyfriend has finally married her childhood sweetheart almost ten years later. Gymslip mum Cheryl Holden was just 15 when she discovered she was expecting a baby to her younger boyfriend Michael. The news sent shock-waves around their local community, but the youngsters, who had been dating for a year, ignored the warnings of family and friends that the relationship wouldn't last to keep the baby and try to make things work. Cheryl left school to give birth to baby Liam in 2003 before going on to obtain her GCSEs and while Michael worked part-time while studying for his own exams before training as a landscape gardener, she took jobs around looking after the children to make ends meet. Over nine years on, the hard-working couple are still going strong, with three children Liam, eight, Bryan, three, and Archie, one, are saving to buy their own house and have just tied the knot in front of family and friends. Cheryl, now 24, and Mike, 22, from Rochdale, Greater Manchester, took their vows alongside two other couples after winning a free wedding with radio station, 106.1 Rock Radio at Manchester Museum. In the wacky black and white themed wedding, complete with Strorm Troopers, Cheryl and Mike had their three sons as pageboys, and there wasn't a dry eye in the house as eldest child Liam read out his heartfelt bestman's speech at the reception. Now the newlyweds are looking forward to married life and debating where to go on their honeymoon. The story went in Reveal magazine after Cheryl and Michael spoke to Cavendish Press.
