
Disgraced Celebrity Big Brother winner Bez was sent to jail after branding his assault conviction as a ''travesty'' during an amazing courtroom rant. Amid dramatic scenes the 46-year old freaky Happy Mondays dancer - who won the Channel 4 reality show in 2005 - was locked away for four weeks after angrily refusing an offer to do unpaid work. When asked by JPs if that meant going to prison he replied: "If that's the case I am a tax payer- I may a well get some use out of my money." The star - real name Mark Berry - has tried to strangle ex-fiancee Monica Ward in an ''insane'' rampage in front of their two year old son Leo after he accused her of stealing money from the child's trust fund. Bez - who went bankrupt two years ago - also dragged former model Monica towards the door of their flat before and pinned her up against a door. He then left before returning an hour later and kicking the front door to the £250,000 flat in Whalley Range, Manchester from its hinges. Singer Monica, 43, who dated Bez for five years claimed the assault formed a ''history of abuse'' he carried out towards her.
